Food Works is a program offered through a collaboration between Middle Way House, an national model domestic violence program and Bloomingfoods, a cooperative grocery that has operated in Bloomington since 1976.
Income from Food Works’ products provides employment and support to survivors of domestic violence. To cater with Food Works, please call (812) 219-9525.
Food Works uses all organic flours, milk and sugar. We purchase locally grown or produced items whenever possible.
We compost all waste in the kitchen, or provide it free to local chicken farmers. All hot water in our kitchen is heated by our solar collectors.
We are also working to provide low cost kitchen rental to individuals seeking to start specialty food businesses. Call Donna at 812.320.9217 to schedule an appointment if this is of interest to you. We coordinate with the Mother Hubbard's Cupboard and People's University in the provision of cooking classes.
We provide meals for the local Head Start Program and breakfast and lunch for the Project School AND we have a well trained crew for catering special events including conferences, weddings and business meetings. You may contact us at (812) 219-9525.
