The Food Works Kitchen is now being managed by Bloomingfoods, which is absorbing the costs of its operation. The space is serving as the Bloomingfoods‘ commissary and continuing on as Food Works’ base of operations. It is now a very busy and bustling place and this collaboration has been a great way to maximize the potential of the New Wings commercial kitchen. Food Works will continue in its mission and now Bloomingfoods has a first class commercial kitchen with the space and equipment resources needed for maintaining and expanding their quality food service.

Middle Way House clients will continue to be employed in the kitchen; in fact, there will be far more opportunities for such employment as a consequence of this alliance. Middle Way House will be receiving revenues from sales at the retail space on Washington Street and from service charges on catering and special orders. Other revenue-sharing specifics are still in the discussion phase as we need some operational time to determine exact costs and yields. Food Works and Bloomingfoods entered into this strategic collaboration as a truly win-win project and we are excited and happy about this creation of new opportunities for both organizations.
