Food Works is a full service off premise catering business owned and operated by Middle Way House.

Middle Way House offers many award winning programs and services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and works to implement and sustain meaningful alternatives to living with violence. To serve this end, Middle Way House became a social entrepreneur and created two enterprises, Confidential Document Destruction (CDD) and Food Works for Middle Way House.

What sets catering provided by Food Works apart?

First .....Food Works for Middle Way House prepares your food from scratch. Aside from a few breads, you can rest assured that when you order from us you are receiving food prepared especially for you. We are other caterers who serve a large proportion of food that is ordered pre-made from distributors.

Second.....we strive to use the freshest and highest quality ingredients.
We look for fruits and vegetables that are in season and make an effort to purchase locally.

Third......all proceeds earned by Food Works go to the Middle Way House. In addition to this very imortant point, Food Works works on a very active and engaged level to provide opportunities to women who are victims of domestic violence to become economically self-sufficient while providing real culinary skills, a safe and supportive work environment, and a valuable work history to present to future employers.

Some of the most important work skills learned are how to juggle child care issues, the importance of timeliness and reliability, how to interact well with others on the job site when there is a lot of stress in life and how to take pride in one's work. Our goal is for women to leave our place of employment knowing that they are up to these challenges. These challenges are not easy for anyone juggling a job with the local high housing and child care costs with giving highest priority to the needs of their families.
